Theramex, een wereldwijd bedrijf dat gespecialiseerd in de gezondheid van vrouwen, heeft vandaag bekendgemaakt dat het de resultaten van de post-autorisatie veiligheidsstudie (PASS) voor Zoely\u00ae (NOMAC-E2) heeft ingediend bij het Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau (EMA).1 NOMAC-E2 (een combinatie van nomegestrolacetaat [2,5 mg] en 17\u03b2-estradiol [1,5 mg]) bevat oestrogeen met een identieke structuur als het oestrogeen dat van nature door vrouwen wordt geproduceerd.2<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De prospectieve, niet-interventionele gecontroleerde cohortstudie, bekend onder de naam PRO E2, is een van de grootste in zijn soort. De studie was opgezet om de risico’s van het gebruik van NOMAC-E2 te vergelijken met die van gecombineerde orale anticonceptiva met levonorgestrel (COC-LNG). 1,3<\/sup> De studie, uitgevoerd door ZEG-Berlin, werd verplicht gesteld door het EMA en gestart in 2014 (na een voorloperstudie, CELINA, gestart in 2012) en afgesloten in december 2020.1 De resultaten weerspiegelen de praktijk bij meer dan 100.000 vrouwen uit Australi\u00eb, Oostenrijk, Colombia, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Hongarije, Itali\u00eb, Mexico, Polen, Rusland, Spanje en Zweden.3<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Luis I\u00f1aki Lete, afdeling Gynaecologie, Academisch Ziekenhuis Araba, Vitoria, Spanje, gaf het volgende commentaar: “Voor artsen wordt real-world bewijs en voortdurende veiligheidsmonitoring steeds belangrijker voor de beslissingen die we dagelijks nemen voor onze pati\u00ebnten. Studies van deze omvang helpen onze klinische praktijk te sturen.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van NOMAC-E2 is eerder aangetoond dat het significant minder verandering in de algehele activiteit van het stollingssysteem teweegbrengt in een onderzoek waarin het werd vergeleken met levonorgestrel\/ethinylestradiol.4<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een post-autorisatie veiligheidsonderzoek (PASS) is een onderzoek dat wordt uitgevoerd nadat een geneesmiddel is toegelaten om nadere informatie te verkrijgen over de veiligheid van een geneesmiddel, of om de doeltreffendheid van risicomanagementmaatregelen te meten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deze studie had tot doel de risico’s van het gebruik van NOMAC-E2 versus OAC-LNG te vergelijken in een onderzoekspopulatie die representatief is voor de daadwerkelijke gebruikers van de afzonderlijke preparaten.1<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over Zoely\u00ae (oestradiolhemihydraat, nomegestrolacetaat)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nomegestrolacetaat is een zeer selectief progestageen dat is afgeleid van het natuurlijk voorkomende stero\u00efdhormoon progesteron. Nomegestrolacetaat heeft een sterke affiniteit voor de menselijke progesteronreceptor en heeft een anti-gonadotrope activiteit, een progesteronreceptor-gemedieerde anti-oestrogene activiteit, een matige anti-androgene activiteit, en is verstoken van enige oestrogene, androgene, glucocortico\u00efde of mineralocortico\u00efde activiteit.2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theramex kreeg de exclusieve licentie- en leveringsovereenkomst voor het product, een gepatenteerd oraal anticonceptiemiddel dat vervolgens in januari 2020 door Teva wereldwijd op meer dan 50 markten werd gecommercialiseerd. MSD behoudt de rechten in de Verenigde Staten en Canada.5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
