My wife was still having periods when her symptoms started so, whilst we had an idea it could be the menopause, we weren\u2019t 100% sure. We went to see a gynaecologist who didn\u2019t offer any clarity, addressing each symptom in isolation. We had private health insurance, so we persevered trying to find the right person to help her. Eventually we saw a leading menopause specialist, who assessed all of her symptoms collectively and has started her on the right therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, it took my wife 9 months and 7 appointments to finally get the help she needed. We had appointments with gynaecologists, dermatologists and endocrinologists \u2013 we saw them all! If we hadn\u2019t had private insurance which allowed us to keep seeking help, she never would have gotten the support she needed. There are so many women in this position \u2013 we need to make it easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
